We just received this popper 2 days ago and used it once. We were very pleased with how well it pops corn. It takes only a few minutes to pop one half cup of corn, which is enough for 2 people (while watching a dvd). We use a huge plastic bowl to catch the popcorn as it comes out of the chute, so there was plenty of room for all the kernels, even the very last ones.
A little spritz with butter flavored spray, and we were ready to eat. The popcorn is very hot for a few minutes, so the plastic bowl is the best choice for holding it. There were only about 10 unpopped kernels, which is better than we've been getting from microwave popcorn, so I'm glad we decided to purchase this popper.

I remember a family friend had an air popper when I was a kid, one of the old originals, and the game was always to blow the top off of it. Well, the first thing that came to mind when I got my first apartment after college for warming gifts was an air popcorn popper, that was 7 years ago and 3 places later. I love this machine. I have a traditional popper as well, and their is always the microwave, but you never really realize how much oil is stuck to the kernel in traditional poppers. This machine makes popcorn fast and so light, it great to eat without anything. One thing is a caution at the end, if the last few kernels are not popping, when you stop the machine, take a second or two (using oven mitts) to tilt the machine to drop the unpopped kernels out. Although usually their may be one or two only (does an excellent job) don't let the kernels burn on the hot grates, hard to clean up, and it smells. So, if you like a light popcorn that is much healthier, this is it. Presto has made this machine or a form of it for years, and they do it right.

This does exactly what is intended: pop popcorn. It has a cord. You plug it in, with a scoop of popcorn kernels inside. Unlike other poppers, as I understand, it is an achievement to not have hot kernels fly everywhere. The popcorn slowly rises out and into your bowl in an orderly fashion. It's a popcorn hero, I tell you. Overall, we very happy with it and won't ever be going back to Microwave popcorn.
